3 effects of food waste
There are many effects of food waste, which hurt planet, people or people’s wallet. One of these is for example the fact, that wasted food mostly goes to landfills, which produce the methane. Methane is a greenhouse gas and it is considered much more dangerous for our planet than for example carbon dioxide, which means that wasted food is one of the causes of global warming.
Another problem of food waste which is also very serious is that, the food which is wasted in
well-developed countries, is missing in other parts of the world, where the food is needed.
There is a study, which says that, if the amount of food which is wasted all around the world were
reduced by twenty-five percent, there would be enough food to feed all the people from countries with high levels of food shortage and never-lasting hunger all around the world.

In my opinion it is sad that some people are so selfish, and instead of sending the food, which they wouldn’t eat anyway to people who are dying on hunger, they just throw it to the trash bin.
However, the thing which I think people, who are wasting food didn’t realise yet is that, wasted food is the same as wasted money. If some of us wouldn’t buy all the food which is being wasted in the end, they would have much more money than they have now. I’m sure that everyone would like to have a new mercedes-benz in garage rather than another bag which is full of decaying fruit, vegetables or the rest of our today’s lunch. It is not anyhow difficult to save a lot of money, if you buy only food, which you are sure that you will consume and no more.
Be clever! Don’t waste either food, or your money! Stop food waste!
