Food Waste

How much food is wasted (in euro) each year in Europe? You can do that and at the same time help the community by stopping food waste. You can stop food waste at your house by following three simple steps. It does not take much effort. Just do these three easy things:  First of all, the easiest thing you can do is check how much food you have in your fridge. Before you go to the grocery, you can check the quantity of food you have already. In this way you do not have the risk of buying something that you already have. Then if you already have it you will have the risk of not using it, and obviously it will get old and then you will through it away even though you didn’t even open it.  The second step, is to check the best by dates while you are at the grocery store. If you realise that you will not eat that product in those days or you are not sure, just don’t buy it. Otherwise, if you do buy it, buy it and then you do not use it, you will waste food, but also your money.  The third and last step, is when for example you buy a kind a fruit (for example a banana) and there is a darker part. When you see a part which is a little bit darker than all the banana it doesn’t mean that is bad. It only means that is a little bit riper. But if it doesn’t convince you, instead of throwing it away, you can just cut that part off.  These are the steps that I consider easy and I think that you can follow them very easily at your house. I hope that in this way you can really help the community and the world by stopping food waste. You can also find benefits by doing this, for example saving your money. Talking to the parents, by stopping food waste, you can also give a better life to your own children. If you will do so I would appreciate it. I hope that I was usefully for you.
